A busy few months for me, but I'm still here, still "mostly" motivated. I recently went on a cruise which I loved, came back just a little heavier which I was fine about, so then proceeded to go a bit crazy for a week eating what I liked. Not sure why - maybe I thought I got away with a minimal weight gain so of I went. Felt terrible and now I'm back on track. Sausage rolls and cake make me sluggish!
I'm not following any program or "diet" as such. Just a lot less processed food, I've cut back on carbs, most week mornings having a vege and fruit juice drink for breakfast. Eating lots of fish as I love it, easy to pan fry a fillet, so not having much meat. Still down 5 kg's since Christmas, but I want to shift a bit more.
The cruise - well - I went to Tasmania with really lovely friends of Peter's and mine, we flew to Sydney and then got the ship onto Melbourne, then onto Tasmania then back to Sydney. So relaxing, some lovely sights, amazing food, a bit of shopping and of course great company. Now back to the real world, but planning another holiday later this year.
I did a lot of aqua before the cruise, but haven't got back into it yet again, but I am walking and this week I've clocked up the most steps since I got my fit bit. I've just got to do what suits and fits in with my week.
A lovely treat after the cruise, I came home to a new car. First time ever, brand new:-) A little Mazda 2 and I love it. Life ticking along ok for me, lots of good friends and family about. Still have tough days at times, but that's to be expected. I'm going to update more often.....

Back to blogging
I'm back! I used to blog regularly but my life had some drastic changes.....
Meanwhile I was slowly gaining back the weight I lost and was feeling fed up with myself. With the help of some friends we are helping each other get back on track. This week I'm back to feeling more motivated than I have for several years - long may it last!
Over Christmas I purchased a fit bit and am aiming for 10,000 steps, quite hard when my job involves sitting on my bum for most of the day! In fact it's a huge challenge. (When I go back to the pool I will drop my steps back to around 6,000 on those days). I'm loving how this little gadget syncs with my phone - motivation plus:-) Now back from holiday and the last couple of days I've hit over 10,000 steps and am just trying little ways to keep moving along with a daily walk. Food - well cutting back on sugar - lowering my carbs and processed food, and just re-learning to say NO! Working again is a huge thing - especially when there are so many more temptations than at home. People eating takeaways, morning tea shouts and so on. For quite a few years I was in the head space I could be strong, but not lately.
As I said life threw some huge changes my way, and I have had to learn to find myself again. I lost my husband to cancer just over 5 years ago. There will always be a huge gap in my life and obviously nothing will ever be the same. I had to move on in various ways, sell our farm, move to a new home, get a job all while grieving. So yep - it's been tough. I've had some amazing support from my kids and some family and friends. During these times my weight has fluctuated up and down. I got up to 17 kilos from my lightest weight - and was at the stage where I was really careless about what I was eating, so I could see the weight would keep on piling on...... I'm on my own now, health is important and I really have to pull my head in! I was sick before Christmas for a few days, (which helped with losing some weight) and now I'm down around 4 kilos. That's a good start for me.
As I said - the motivation is back, tiny baby steps here. I know it won't be easy, I don't expect to get down again to my lowest weight, but I have a goal in mind.
